Capnography: Waveform Interpretation

Credits : 1  |  Course Length : 55min

Course Overview

A lot of information can be derived from the capnography, both from the value and the waveform itself.  This lecture focuses on waveform interpretation.  We review how to infer information concerning the pulmonary and cardiac systems, assess the status of certain diseases (such as asthma, and COPD), and detect certain events (such as broncospasm, sophageal intubation, and the onset of M H).

We will discuss why we monitor ETCO2, review how the machine works, and then disect several scenarios with waveform interpretation.
